Review - Makeup Primers

6:36:00 PM

At first I thought that makeup primers only moisturizer the skin, I can use any face cream to replace it. Later I figured it out that a good makeup primer can stably last the makeup. It is important to keep my makeup on all day and offer you a fresh and clean look.

1) SEPHORA COLLECTION Silicone Free Foundation Primer
What it is:
A fast-absorbing, smoothing primer that provides an even canvas for your foundation.

What it does:
Prepare your skin for silky smooth foundation application with this matifying formula specially developed for oily, sensitive, or acne-prone skin. The light, oil-free formula wears with a fresh feeling, while soothing and calming irritated skin for all-day perfection.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Synthetic Fragrances

What else you need to know:
This primer is dermatologically tested, noncomedogenic, and free of mineral oil.

This primer does a good job of smoothing out my complexion and keeping my foundation on all day. Since it is a silicone free primer, I do not feel silky on my skin after I applied.

2) SMASHBOX Photo Finish Foundation Primer Light
What it is:
A water-based, lightweight foundation primer.

What it is formulated to do:
Perfect for oily, acne-prone, or sensitive skin, this oil-free, 60% water based primer refreshes on contact while oil absorbers provide a smooth, matte finish all day. Light diffusers minimize the appearance of imperfections while vitamin C and peptides help even skin tone and promote collagen production for a flawless future.

What else you need to know:
Photo Finish Foundation Primer Light is oil-free, fragrance-free, and paraben-free.

I personally like silicone based primers, since I have oily skin on my T-zone and they work better on my skin. I do love its great silky feeling on my skin when I applied, which leaves my face very soft and smooth! It also helps minimize the appearance of my pores and makes my foundation look much more even. It leaves my skin looking oil free and fresh all day. I will recommend it to oily skin people.

So this is my favorite one among them.

3)  Laura Geller Spackle Under Makeup Primer - 2 oz pump

A cooling, oil-free under make-up primer. This sleek undercoat smoothes and perfects skin's texture, prepping it for foundation. Formulated with nourishing, soothing botanicals, it's lush, lightweight, and suitable for all skin types. Made with natural plant extracts and the powerful anti-oxidants, White Tea and Centella Asiatica. These ingredients protect the skin along with Aloe Vera Gel.

It is very light and refreshing. It does its job well, smooths my skin, and keep my foundation on my face the all day long. I usually apply it after my face cream otherwise it may not hydrating enough if applied alone. Nothing too special.

4) BOBBI BROWN Vitamin Enriched Face Base

What it is:
A lightweight cream that sinks instantly into the skin to create a smooth base for a seamless makeup application.

What it does:
This advanced, oil-free face formula is rich but never feels greasy. Formulated with shea butter, it instantly hydrates, softens, and cushions skin.

What else you need to know
Dermatologist tested.

The texture is a bit thick but creamy, and it absorbed quickly. I like the lemon scent on it. You can use it as a makeup primer and moisturizer in one. It still works better after moisturizer. It is hydrating enough for my face. However, without any discount, I may not buy it again with full price.
